I posted this to another subforum first, but this section is actually more appropriate...
Anyone else had adhesions following partial glossectomy? I have had pains in my floor of mouth/tongue area ever since the partial glossectomy operation eight years ago (T1N0M0, succesfully treated). I have met the surgeon who operated me, gave me pain meds and offered to "clip" me once more, pointing at the tissue underneath my tongue. He said that it would be just a minor operation of 5 minutes.
He did not specify what is it exactly that he would be "clipping". But I have done some info digging and am pretty sure he meant there is an adhesion underneath my tongue that could be causing or contributing to the pain. There is a kind of an extra frenulum next to the lingual frenulum; which I suppose should not be there in the first place. Sort of scar tissue.
He said that cutting this tissue could make the pain worse, too. But I guess that's something that surgeons have to say always. Because every operation is a risk as well as a possibility.
Any thoughts?

You did get a couple responses to your post. This is something that is unusual which is why you may not have had many replies.
To me it sounds like the surgeon is talking about doing a minor reconstruction, sometimes called a debulking. Scar tissue can be painful. My concern with having another procedure would be that the pain could become worse and it wouldnt help at all.
I suggest a second opinion prior to deciding upon another surgery.
