This afternoon as I was putting lunch thru it, I felt something awfully wet on my stomache. I pujjed my shirt up and my tee shirt was soaked with Jevity. Ths Dr put a smaller feeding tube in for the replacement. I had a 6 and he put in 20 which is much smaller. I have been having trouble with it leaking and keep a bandage around it. This is the worst it has been. I have seen the Dr about it and I think he was lost or confused. I wanted himt to put a lrger one in. He told me he didn't do it because it would reqire using a scope to do it. LOL I told him I have had many of those and usually every 3 to 6 months. This guy wants to wait until May to see me again. Maybe I had better get the Dr in Pittsburgh UPMC to do this procedutre to be sure it is done right. He is the Dr that put the feeding tube in. Anyone else have this problem?? It not only is annoying but has a terrible odor and the bandage is always wet. I never had a problem until the Dr put this smaller one in.

This cant be put off until May. Having the wet formula sitting there like that is bound to cause an infection which can turn into a serious medical problem.
Call your gastro doc and explain you have a problem. They can easily swap it out and put another one in. Do NOT wait! Its an emergency situation and needs attention.

A common bacteria that is very resistant to antibiotics and spreads readily in hospitals between patients who are immunocompromised. Is also very rife in the community.
Jim, I agree with Christine's advice. This needs urgent attention. Hope you can get it sorted quickly. Even turn up at your local emergency department. Take care, Tammy

You cannot get a break can you? When you contact UPMC, ask about a button or low profile gastronomy tube. I love my AMT mini one.
It needs to be done right. I am so glad my wife can change my button now right at home Hang in there. Charm

A local Gastro Dr is the one who did this. I think as you say. I will call UPMC and get this one to do it. He is the one who put it in. I think having 1/3 less stomache is one of the causes. It's wrapped around my esophagus because of Barretts. Nice to be getting advice from my friends, Thank you all again.
