Your attitude is awesome... Even though I'm a Tar Heel, who went to school in Chapel Hill, I wish you nothing but the best over the coming weeks...
I'm halfway through my second bout of radiation (18th treatment today), and I can report this time is much smoother than the first time... Of course, I'm only getting rad to the neck and nowhere in the mouth or esophogus... The chemo is no walk in the park, but it's bearable aside from a couple days of feeling queasy after the infusion... You can do it!!
Wife of AZTarHeel, SCC of tongue T2,N1,M0 - 30 IMRT 12/'03 - 1/'04; May 2004 radical neck dissection 1 cancerous lymph node found; cisplatin 1/every 3wks; 33-36 IMRT treatments to lower neck which wasn't previosuly radiated.

WOW! What an attitude! If positive attitude alone could beat this beast you'd do that hands down! I admire you for your spirit and spunk. Will keep you in my thoughts and prayers as you go forward with treatments.
Hugs, Nancy

Welcome and great attitude, love to hear that. I believe in the prayer system. I also was stage IV tongue and mets in lymph nodes. I took 37 rad. treatments and told I couldn't have anymore if the beast returned. What's the difference? I will add you and your family to my church prayer list and ask others that I know to add you also. God bless and keep that attitude. I think your wife and kids are very lucky to have you.
