I seem to be having some problems w/my password. I have to have a temporary one sent to me and when I change it under the "edit profile" section of "my stuff" it doesn't "take". Stays with another (forgotten) p'word.
Who do I speak with about this?

Although Im not the one to talk to about this problem, I will try to help you. It could be a problem with the computer system you are using. I use a MacBook Pro with Firefox. When I log in, I check the box remember me. This will save the password to your computer and make your log in easier. You must check this off every time you log in or it wont remember your password. Hope this will help!

gpk101 - Did you remember to hit "submit" at the very bottom of the profile page?

Thanks, guys, but I'm checking the box to have it remember me, AND hitting "submit" but then when my profile reappears, the password is not changed. I can tell 'coz it's almost the entire box long, and I've been opting for simpler, shorter passwords.
Christine, who would I contact?

Maybe it doesn't like your password? I don't use the "remember me" feature. I have a formula that helps me always remember all my passwords. Here's what I do:
1. Think of a phrase that is meaningful to you and use the first letter of each word.
Example: Everybody Loves Me = ELM
2.To this, add 3 or 4 or five letters from the place you are logging into.
Example: Oral Cancer Foundation = ocf
3. Add a number that is meaningful to you and doesn't change.
Example: Age when you received your first kiss = 16
Put these all together and you have: ELMocf16

You can remember all your pws this way because the only part that changes is the middle of the pw which is the place you are going to, and the two ends are meaningful to you and easy to remember.

You could also try a different browser, restart your computer, clear the cookies, take a break and when you come back you might see something you forgot to do previously. OR maybe someone else will have a better solution.

Gordon, send Brian an email. If he doesnt know, he may pass it along to the tech guy.

Make sure its only this site as no one else has mentioned any issues. Check your other sites. Give all the details, is this something new or has it always been like this. Could this be due to a new computer or have you had any computer issues lately? Also name what type of computer and browser you use.

PS... AnneMarie, now we all know your password (LOL)!!!! I love your password ideas!!!!

Gordon,
I believe the password box will be filled up with all of the same character regardless of the length of your password - at least that is my experience on the OCF site and other sites that require passwords.

call jamie at the OCF office to reset it for you. The number of dots in the box in your profile has nothing to do with the letters in your password.

The sign in issues, where you computer is automatically logging you in, could be the problem, and you can delete those old passwords in your computers keychain. Once uyou do that it will remember the correct one the next time. You don't have to hit remember me for a MAC computer to remember you. However you should not get in the habit of letting any browser remember you as it will let anyone that uses your computer sign in for you in my opinion. Whatever it is, once Jamie gives you a new password and you use it, don't let your computer auto sign in for you for awhile until you figure out how to get the old password out of the keychain.

Thanks, Brian ;and everybody. I'm glad there's a simple fix and I have no doubt that my computer is most likely the problem. I'll have to call sometime next week as I lost my phone at the hospital this am, though. Where do I find the number?
