I had mine removed on Monday, it is now Saturday and there is still a scab on the inside of the dimple. I guess that will fall out in time and I'll be left with something that looks like a new belly button? Is that correct? But you're right, it never truly goes away. You will have a 2nd belly button, but you will be in good company !
Congrats on getting de-PEG'd.

Mine has healed well. It's just a little brownish spot now ...

So I guess the scab in the hole will eventually come out and I'll just be left with my new belly button LOL. Hearing so much about how fast it heals, I wondered if the scab should have been gone by now. I wonder if anyone knows the answer to this. Has anyone had to get the tube reinserted a second time? Do they use the same spot or do you wind up with a third belly button? I wonder how many belly buttons I'm going to wind up with,LOL Mike, 55 7/1/12 R Cervicl mass size of lg grape 9/12/12 diagnsd SCC lymphoid tissue level II BOT HPV+ blind primary 10/22/12 7wks rads, 2 cispltn 11/16/12 PEG in 12/18/12 tx end 1/14/13 PEG out non-smkr, no caregiver

Kris doesn't have a new belly button from his just a pale pink scar. He had to have the PEG reinserted - this is in a new spot just below the original. Hoping you have a good result from your PET and don't ever need to have the PEG reinserted. Tammy

The doctor felt the spot, and said it was doable. The hole starts to seals up right away once the tube is removed, but it takes a few weeks to fully heal with scabing, and all.
