I've been doing some research on my own, since my Onc wants to blame radiation, and the Radiologist says it's from chemo. I honestly don't think it's a nerve problem, tho I still can't handle bright sunlight (and bright sunlight on snow is a killer)...my eyes just seem to produce so much goop now days. I wake up, and the first thing I do is clear my eyes of junk...I can do that just fine, but the fact that they produce goop all day long is a pain. Wearing eye makeup is a challange because they also water a lot.

Am I unique in this? Aside from neuropathy in my hands, the rest of my recovery is totally unremarkable...I feel good, I don't have any fibrosis (knock on wood), my saliva is at about 20%, and my taste is 60% for the first 3 to 5 bites smile.

It can happen. Severe neuropathy, in rare cases, can effect the organs, including eyes. Some chemos can cause eye problems, and it did with me causing Optic Ischemic Neuropathy, Neovascular Glaucoma, and some make you photo sensitive, like Erbitux. Radiation can even effect the eyes also, and may depend where radiation was given. Anemia, diabetes, kidney disease, herpes simplex, as well as other medical conditions, can cause or contribute to eye problems, like blurriness, photo sensitivity, etc. I'm permanently blind in one eye from chemo..Taxotere, Cisplatin, and 5-FU, almost both eyes, needed eye surgery, and weekly visits to the Opthomolgist, a little too late, and still have vision problems to this date..junk, curtiness, dryness, irritation, blurriness, and have to physically open my eyes with my fingers in the morning. I recently finished radiation treatment, with Erbitux, and Taxotere, and again had further eye trouble. Taxotere interferes with the tear duct causing eye dryness, irritation, redness, conjunctivitis, and went to my Opthomolgist for a complete exam, tests, and was prescribed topical cortisone, dry eye drops. They have otc eyelipd wipes also, so uou dont cross contamonate or further irritate.

I suggest seeing a good Opthomolgist, not an eye glass doctor, in addition too, complete blood work with your MO to see if there are any deficiencies to correct. Good luck.
