You may get sick of me as im sure this wont be the last time i post on this sort of stuff. Ok I'm now getting a pinching sensation every now and again in my ears. sometimes last 30 seconds sometimes not even that. I wouldn't worry but Once again this was sort of my first symptom of cancer except now it's a bit worse. The pain is bearable and not bad but worrying all the same. I try and calm myself down by saying its got to do with the radiotherapy and then the other part of me can't understand that why is it only starting now four months later that I'm almost all better? Do you think this would warrant a vist to my ENT? Would he even be able to do anything at this sage? No visible masses etc. I really really need to get off holidays and go back to work to stop this worrying!!! Xx

Its always best to err on the side of caution when dealing with this. Since you only finished your treatments a few months ago you still should be seen by your ENT probably every month. Usually they see a patient every 2 weeks for a while then it moves to every 3 weeks then monthly, then every 6 weeks, etc.
You really can control the worrying. It takes lots of practice but it cant be done. First you must think positively about your situation. You are a survivor! Remember what you have been thru and try to make plans for the future. Good positive plans like a trip or outings with friends. Everybody needs a reason to get up in the mourning and something to look forward to. This will help take your mind off "what if". Cancer is a thief! If you allow it to, cancer will steal your time away from you. All you will accomplish is sitting around worrying instead of being out there living your life. Dont let cancer steal anymore time away from you! You dont want to be a victim sitting around feeling sorry for yourself being paralyzed by fear of the unknown. Worrying will never determine your fate. With practice you can "change the channel" in your way of thinking and you will feel so much better about your situation. I have faith in you that you can overcome this phase! I only had my pet scan 2 weeks ago where it showed very small activity where my dr thinks its more than likely inflammation but now have this symptom. My ENT is on holidays and won't be back until the 7 th so I can't really do anything until then anyway. Just thought I'd see if anyone ad anything similar about the ears.

I spoke to the nurse at the radiation centre I went to and she is confirming this later this afternoon with my radiation oncologist. She said it sounds like it may be the nerves healing. I feel a lot more relieved now than I did this morning! She also pointed out that I may need to speak to someone professionally to help me cope with my anxiety over this, I already thought I may need some help learning to "to change the channel" thank you Christine who put it in such fantastic words I could not have described it better myself.
