The soles of his feet have a rash as well as the top of his hands. The rash covers his entire hand and is a purplish/red color and very swollen. It's been like this for 3 days but he wanted to wait until his doctor appointment on Monday. Has anybody else experienced this? I've read about this on the palms of the hands but not the top.

I have not heard of this with cisplatin. Im sorry but Im not that familiar with the chemo blend your husband has gotten. Make sure you discuss this with his doc right away. Please let us know how he makes out. Best wishes!!!! It can happen with chemo, and did to me from the same infuction chemo...Cisplatin, Taxotere and 5-FU. Look this up, in addition to seeing your doctor, and you will find lots of info, and things to do.
I lost all my fingernails, and toenails too, but they t grew back after several months. Toenails took longer. I still have problems with them easily tearing, breaking, uneven growth.

I'll defer to Paul's explanation, he seems to have been through it. Definitely have the doc look at it. Hugs and take care.

It is hand and foot syndrome and is supposed to go away in about a week. It was from the 5-FU. He had his last treatment with that a week ago last Friday. On to different chemo drug and radiation on Monday.
