Joined: Oct 2012 Posts: 143 | Mom was taken to the Operating Room at 8:00 am for her mandible resection and reconstruction.  She will also remove as much muscle from her right cheek as the tumor is the size of a marble. Our only form of communication is via text messaging since we are all 20,000 miles away. It is very difficult and heart breaking to be far. By tomorrow morning I will be able to give you more updates. Need all your thoughts and prayers.

3 rds of chemo(Carbo/Taxol)
Rt Mandibulectomy, rt fibular flap,& rt ND with trach, picc,& g-tube.
30 rds of rads with weekly cisplatin
SCANS ALL CLEAR!

Joined: Oct 2012 Posts: 143 | Mom has been post-op for the last 2 days. She continues to be in the ICU due to her breathing problems. She is on the respirator. I appreciate all your thoughts and prayers. It is a very stressful journey but OCF is keeping my hopes up.
