Carla. it's great that you have a wonderful family. The road ahead is very hard and I'm sure a lot of us contemplated, at some point, just quitting but a strong family and good friends help us through as do the friends we make on this forum. Surround yourself with the strength of family and friends and you can do just about anything.

Hi Carla,

Welcome to OCF. This is a wonderful place filled with people who have experienced many different diagnoses of Head and Neck cancer. Treatment is tough but so worth it. Where are you being treated?

If you will give us some more information, I am sure there will be many who will respond. At the top of this page you will see "My Stuff". Click on that and on the left side of the page you'll see "Profile." Click on that and fill out the info. It will help all of us to get to know you better and familiarize us with your situation.

There is tons of info on this site, too. Knowledge is power and the more you know, the better you can deal with this awful disease.

My best to you!
Anita

Carla,

You have found the right place for getting through oral cancer. Both my brother and I have fought this disease and are still with our lovely families. This is a fight you can win but the road is hard.

If you go to the top of the page and click on forums you will find a catagory named "intoduce yourself" Click on this and start a new conversation. This way all the folks here can answer your specific questions as you mive forward in KILLING this disease.

Hi Carla... Welcome... Very sorry you have to be here. I lost my mom to lung cancer I know it's hard. Location wise it sounds like you may have an advanced base of tongue cancer. Ask to be tested for HPV - it will help when it comes to deciding on treatment. We've all been through this in some way or another, you can get through it to. Ask any questions you may have the people here will try to help and answer.

Hi, Carla:

I'm sorry that you have to be on here, but this a good place to be because we have all been down this road. Family, friends, people on this forum can all be a great source of strength and encouragement; and I hope that you will utilize all of them. Good luck to you!

Hi Carla,
We can absolutely become friends on the internet!! I know that there are a number of people I could write to at any moment and they would get back to me as soon as they could. We are here for each other and understand the ups and downs.
Keep in touch. Whether it be to cry, yell, grovel or just ask questions, we are here!!
Blessings,
Kathy
