Charm, love your remake of the song. I like the Everly Brothers version better than Ronstadt's but both are good, also. I may use for a future tagline.

Michael (husband) and I do something very similar between ourselves, making up new lyrics. We also come up with apropos lyrics from songs for each of our blog headings and ask our readers to "name that tune". We even have a private list of songs we haven't used, not wanting to offend those who don't share our sometimes twisted sense of humor, for example "My Wife and My Dead Wife" by Robyn Hitchcock (suddenly thought of Schrdinger's cat - don't know why that didn't occur to me before now).

Anyway, I've been here a very short time but have already come to look forward to your posts. I'm so sorry for what you're going through but your spirit is an inspiration to all.

Best of luck to you!

Charm -
I've been off the forum & was off FB during the time you got the diagnosis, so this is the first I've had a chance to catch up. I can't add anything that hasn't been said. YOu've been an inspiration to so many, & I know everyone is praying for you and a good outcome. Take care,
Marlene

Marlene Thanks for the kind words.

Everyone: I finally got my treatment plan this morning.
Chemo this Saturday ; first of three weekly infusions of Carboplatin. (see my separate post where I am asking about Taxol being added as a "chaser" )
Then 5 more Cyberknifes starting next Friday October 5th and ending up on my birthday, the 11th. (when I will update my signature line to my new age)

My wife and I are so relieved to finally have the suspense over. Regular readers have probably deduced that I'm not a big fan of clinical trials which would have been my only alternative if they couldn't do a third round.
Another reason to go to a CCC, because many non CCCs think you can't do radiation twice let alone three times, while even the CCCs who don't feel comfortable doing it will recommend a place that does.

Good - glad you you have your plan in hand. I don't know if telling you I am sending my best wishes is entirely honest as I am a worrier by nature, but will certainly be fretting for your treatment to be lacking in drama and the outcome to be excellent.

Wonderful news, Charm. I wish you the very best, and it sounds like you're in good hands to get that. Your posts, and your latest problem, give hope to all of us if we ever have a recurrence and helps lead us in the right direction. Thank you for posting, and I pray for you to get an "ALL CLEAR" report in the future.

Good luck friend. Did you tell them I'll ride up and do a English/Irish CPA dancechant if they think it will boost your treatment's impact?

Hi, Charm,

I am sorry that you have to go through this again. I wish you all that is positive as you navigate this path. You are an inspiration to me and I am sad that you have a recurrence. You are in my prayers and I send you and Bev my very best. I wish that I could have met you at Susan's Walk but Clark and I took a much needed vacation--first one in five years! Hang in there, good man!

About bloody time!! I have been watching and waiting to hear what the plan was - and am now THRILLED that you are about to start. Now you can settle in and focus on dealing with what will no doubt be a tough treatment plan. Awesome!! You are now done with that "have it back b.s." and are finally on the path to it being GONE GONE GONE like the wind!! Great news.

Hugs
