Joined: Nov 2010 Posts: 74 | I was on it for 2 months but Drs at Dana Farber say it didnt do anything. I will be back on IV chemo next week...not sure yet which ones though. To be honest I dont think they sounded to encouraging...they are more focused on getting my pain under control. I am happy to be back in MA with my family. Have been spending all the time I can with my grandkids.
4 cancerous tumors stage4 Surgery 10/26/2010 Radiation 2x a day for 4 weeks (started Dec 13th 2010)
Reccurance discovered Nov 2011. Tumor behind left jaw. Erbitux, Taxol and Paraplatin for 6 wk. Surgery scheduled for Feb
50 year old woman smoked for 30 years quit 3 years ago light drinker HPV +16

Being from Boston myself, I know how amazing a hospital it is. You are in good hands. I hope they come up with a plan that will keep your pain managed and provide you with plenty more time to spend with your family and good quality of life. Sending you my best wishes.

Joined: Jul 2011 Posts: 945 | Plantgirl - if you see a clinical trial that you like the looks of but that you do not qualify for, you can ask if a compassionate exemption can be made, allowing you access to the protocol. This would be risky, but then life is pretty risky.

TX 40 IRMT (1.8 gy) + 10 Cetuximab
PET Scans 6/2011 + 3/2012 clear, 5 year physical exam clear; chest CT's clear of cancer. On thyroid pills. Life is good.
