Dear All,

I still can't believe I am now a part of "those who have lost their loved one". On Sunday June 24th my hubby Ron went to sleep at 7:30pm because he had to wake up early the next day. I was still doing some stuff around the house and went into our bedroom at 9:00pm to go to bed.

I looked at Ron and his face was white. I touched him and he was cold...I called 911 and did CPR on him until the paramedics came. They couldn't revive him. I am totally devastated and heartbroken but at the same time I'm thankful to have shared a love so strong that not even death can break our bond.

On our last wedding anniversary Ron gave me a silver heart that said "Ron and Shelley...Eternal Love". He will live forever in my heart. The wonderful people on this website have helped me so much over the last 7 year's. I want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Lots of Love,

Shelley

Oh Shelley, I am so, so sorry. There just are no words. Take some small measure of comfort that Ron is in a better place and went peacefully. Be thankful for the special love you two shared. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

I am so very sorry for you, Shelly. What a shock! I hope that you are comforted by family and friends who can share the wonderful memories you have of Ron. This is such heartbreaking news. Ron was a thoughtful guy to have given you the silver heart. It is so sweet that you have a special token of his love for you. When my friend, Bunny, passed away a few years ago, another friend and I were so sad that we didn't have some token of hers to remember her. Not that we needed one but it would have been nice to have a piece of her...like a pin or earrings. We promised each other we would leave something special to each other. I send you love, and hugs.

Shelley I was so shocked when I saw your post on Facebook. I am sorry you have joined this club. Even though our husbands fought this disease so hard both their deaths were sudden. I always say I am glad that Ken went quickly and that his suffering ended, but that we had had those discussions you have when someone is diagnosed with cancer. You have been so strong all of these years and that strength will get you through.

Dear Shelley,

I am deeply saddened to learn of Ron's passing. I'm sorry that I don't know you all that well, but it seems from your signature that he was doing pretty well and was far out from his initial diagnosis and treatment. It's so strange how things sometimes happen. I am glad that he passed peacefully.

I'm so happy that you have such a wonderful token of your love and commitment to one another. I'm sure that it has even more meaning now. Ron was fortunate to have you by his side through this ordeal. It takes a very special person to be a loving caregiver and not to give up when things get tough.

I wish for you and your family to have moments of peace, comfort, and strength as you travel through this emotional journey. Please do something nice for yourself...something that provides relief and comfort.

With love and care,
Kerri
