Everyone is different of course.
My chemo/radiation therapy included acupressure & acupuncture.
My treatment started in OK, where acupuncture is illegal, but acupressure worked extremely well for my nausea, I had no pain from those treatments in 2008.
Returning to Seattle, I enjoyed acupuncture for saliva recovery, I can nearly drown now.
Recurrance of SCC & subsequent jaw replacement/tongue resection resulted in lots of cut nerves, reduced ability to swallow, & pain from all.
Pills are ok, but prevent you from doing anything else, so acupuncture was a weekly occurance for a year, now is bi-weekly, and I am working full time as Steam Engineer, but had to give up bus driving job, as I could no longer speak clearly, bummer, love to drive.

...and now, 3rd occurance: Surgery 5/1/12

Ive heard good things from some who have done acupuncture for dry mouth. I also heard some things about it from a medical professional who attended a medical conference on acupuncture about 4 years ago. Thanks or posting what helped you, it may also help others.

Please tell me what acupuncture protocol (placement of needles) that your acupuncturist used, I'm working with an acupuncturist to start treatment.

Thanks.

Lefty, dont you find it odd that your acupuncturist wouldnt already know the needle positions? Please be very cautious!

Paul, you're a brave guy! I was especially sorry to read that you can no longer do what you love, but you're making the best of it which is admirable. I also found it inspiring that the acupuncture has helped with dry mouth. Like Christine, I'd heard about that anecdotally. Good to see an actual case.

Would you say the acupuncture had or is having any effect with nerve damage?
