I would do 5 days of diflucan, it would get better, then 3 days later, My tongue would flare/burn/sores/red...Like I dipped my tongue in acid!!! It was the most annoying painful thing. So another round of diflucan etc...finally went to a very very kind ENT, he saw a spot on my tongue that he biopsied one week ago today, I go to get my results today. My tongue is still a mess, red/thrush/sore..not to mention the hole in the middle where he cut and stitched I have been a light smoker for 22 years (5 cigs a day) I am a big wine drinker And most likely have been exposed to HPV in my mouth I had some HPV lasered off my cervix 10 years ago Any feedback would be great?? What the hell is wrong with my tongue, my throat and neck hurt as well......... | | | | Joined: Jul 2011 Posts: 945 "Above & Beyond" Member (500+ posts) | "Above & Beyond" Member (500+ posts) Joined: Jul 2011 Posts: 945 | Hi, Ripley - welcome to the forum. Let's hope it's just persistent thrush.

I Agree with Dave . HPV is not usually on the oral tongue. If it is OC it's likely not caused by HPV - based in location. Hopefully it's nothing, fingers crossed your results are good. Waiting sucks. Stitches? Your dr must have taken a chunk out! mine removed some tissue from the underside of my tongue, the heads up for me with regards to it possibly being cancer was that it didn't heal. After 2 months it still hurt and unlike before the biopsy, it bled. If you do get an OC diagnosis (which I hope is not the case) then speed is important. Do what has to be done - quickly. Good luck!
