Brian, your points are well taken about vaccinations. I should also have realized that whatever info I'd read about the girls-only study came from something I'd found here! In fact every chance I get I tell friends with young boys to get them vaccinated for HPV along with the girls, and some have done so.

And I couldn't agree more about the absurd, fear-driven anti-vaccine movement in the U.S. Ben Goldacre's book Bad Science, with which some here might be familiar, is an excellent read for a thoughtful and educated opinion about that issue and other medical quackery.

I seriously doubt that your fears of oral sex, bordering on hypochondria, are typical of all of Finland's youth as you like to pretend to yourself. Here is an excerpt from a study of Finnish sexual habits
Cunnilingus and fellatio are very common sexual practices throughout cultures and history. In the Finnish questionnaire, experiences of oral sex were inquired by the following question: In the last five years, how often have you had oral sex in your sexual relations, that is, fondling a mans penis or a womans genitals by mouth? Men reported to have done cunnilingus to their partner more often, 78 percent, than women had done fellatio, 67 percent (Table 8). More than half of the men and 42 percent of the women had done it often or sometimes. Men also had received oral sex more often, 73 percent, than women, 64 percent.

Oral sex was much more common among younger than older Finns. In the age group 18 to 34 years, almost all had done and received oral sex, whereas in the age group 55 to 74, only 35 percent of men had received it from and 46 percent had done it to the partner. Only one in five women admitted it either way. The discrepancy in older mens and womens reports of oral sex may be due to the more common experiences of extra sexual relations with prostitutes and perhaps a less-inhibited extra partner.
Sex in Finland

I understand you want a guarantee that you won't get oral cancer if you have or had oral sex. But you can get oral cancer even without HPV (a nod to Zengalib's request). The majority of people have oral sex and do not get oral cancer. But it is a rising factor in transmission of HPV that ends up in oral cancer. TV sensationalism is not a good basis for life decisions.

While I have avoided commenting on your fractured English grammar and syntax, I'm beginning to wonder if your reading comprehension of English is the problem here. This thread and Brian's comments and the studies are for the point that both boys and girls should get the HPV vaccine so that this risk will end in the next couple generations. Please quit trying to hijack the thread by asking over and over if you can have oral sex

Zeb,

If it's any consolation I don't mind if you give or receive oral sex...you not only have my permission but my blessing!

My only caveats would be to be safe about it (dental dams and condoms) if you are not in a long term monogamous relationship, if you are get her tested and think about getting vaccinated if you fit the criteria.

Other then that brother life is a crap shoot so when I go I'll know that I didn't let fear make my decisions for me, but I made them while taking every precaution to ensure my well being...no regrets.

Now I'm thinking about Oral sex, thanks guys.

Eric

I don't mind either what Zeb does orally. I just wish he would quit posting here about it.

Zeb

Start pushing and organizing for Finnish youth to get vaccinated against HPV. Be positive and do good.
