Joined: Jun 2007 Posts: 10,507 Likes: 7 | Jim went for surgery today. Unfortunately the doctor didnt get too far. Jim's jaw still has the infection in it so the surgery had to be put off again. He is in the same hospital but I do not know which room yet. When I find out I will post it.

I hope he can get the surgery soon so he can move on to recovery. I'm sure he would like to close the book on this whole mess.

Ex-spouse MISDIAGNOSED with SCC-HN IVa 12/10. Tonsils out 1/11. 4 teeth out 2/11. TX Erbitux x2, IMRT x2 2/11. 2nd opinion-benign BCC-NOT CANCER 3/11. TX stopped 3/11. New doctors 4/11. ENT agrees with 2nd opinion 5/11. ENT scoped him-all clear 7/11. Ordered MRI anyway. MRI 8/22/11 Result-all clear.

Joined: Jun 2007 Posts: 10,507 Likes: 7 | Jim was released from the hospital today. He will continue to recover from the surgery. Jim is still on IV antibiotics for his jaw infection. Hopefully it will be under control soon so he can get his jaw operated on.

CG to Mom, dx 4/25/07 with tongue cancer,T3N0,tx began 7/6/07, 31 tx's of IMRT, 8 cycles of Erbitux. Brachytherapy, surgery, left neck dissection and temp trach placed all on 9/17/07, trach removed 10/17/07. ORN of jaw, late effect of radiation symptoms. **lost my beautiful mother on 5/5/11.
