I have had 2 surgeries thus far to take part of tongue out. the first was in july when i was told i had cancer, the left side was taken out. the second was in august and they took out about half of it out. the base is what is left with a flap from my forearm. but i have had the same pain occur again, the kind that hurts so bad it gives you ear aches. i knew it had come back again. even after them taking 95% of it out and having to chemo treatments. not sure how much is going to be taken out but i hope they take it all out. its really aggressive. I never smoked or dipped before. im 29. I have a family and we want to grow. Im scared. but being so positive, i have no choice but to be.

Have you had any radiation? It's unusual for oral cancer patients to have chemo without radiation. I wish you a full and speedy recovery.

He started me out with full chemotherapy rounds (2 rounds) prior to starting radiation. Radiation w/low dose chemo will start next week.
