I'm 63 years old and was diagnosed with stage III nasopharangeal cancer in Dec, 2001. Have gone through chemo and radiation, and the results so far are fantastic. My most recent PET scan shows no trace of cancer!

The effects of the treatment were pretty much overwhelming. I spent alotof time scared and feeling sorry for myself. Cried alot, too. That's over now. I began praying a lot, and God has definitely answered those prayers. If there is anything I can do to help anyone who is going through this same treatment regimen, please do not hesitate to ask. Would have given a lot to have had someone to talk to who had already gone through this ordeal.

My prayers and thanks go out to all Oncology Drs and Nurses, they are the greratest! wink

Tom,
so glad to hear the good news. I hope my husband does as well. Right now we are in maybe the middle of the ordeal. 2 in house chemo weekly chemo and daily radiation 2nd week . Many complications but great to know someone has gone thru it with great results. Yesterday he had a bad reaction to chemo. He's vague about what happened but it was major enough to have them keep him all day and not do radiation for the rest of the week.I was at work and he tends to tell them not to worry me so I found out after it was all over.I hope you can celebrate your good news in some way. Here's to many healthy years
Diane

Tom,

Thank you for sharing your story with us. My father has just been diagnosed, so we are starting our journey. We are very scared. It is so encouraging to hear from people who have experienced this, and are willing to share what they have been through with others.

I am thankful for the support I have found here.

God bless you and your family,

Tabitha

Hi Tom, I feel exactly the same way. It is a perfect example of "God never giving us more than we can handle". But we still have to make choices every day to handle it with all the grace that God can provide. I have 9 more treatments left and I agree the doctors and nurses have been terrific (Kaiser Permanente and UCSF Medical Center)
