Hi Folks,

Just to let you know I'm home from the hospital last Tuesday. Doctor says everything went well. Not allowed to talk and wrist is sore and can't use much. I'm tired but to be expected. On nasal feeding tube which I had hoped to get rid of Monday but will have for at least another week as back up. Will see speech people Monday to see if I can swallow and talk.

Had minor setback last night as neck incision opened at drainage site. Back to HUP this am to have it fixed. He says cannot restitch and must heal from outside now. He packed it and says it will take longer to heal now that it is open.

Sister is staying with me this week and then will take me to her house for a week. Who knows after that. Right now can't walk very far and not driving. Very short of breath. Don't know why.

I thank you all for your well wishes. Can't type much so signing off.

Take care,
Eileen

Thanks for the update Eileen,
Glad to see that everything went well according to the doctors.
Sounds like you have a lot of recovering to do and I hope every passing day brings improvements. Like you I had my sister stay for around a week which was a great help and we realised that we enjoyed each others company throughout this time.
Love and best wishes for your healing process.
Gabriele

Saw speech and doc on Monday. NG tube stays. Still no swallowing or talking. Drinking leaks through drain in neck. By the time they let me swallow again, I'm afraid I will have lost my ability to do it. Thinks don't go down now hopefully just due to swelling. Not in any pain. Taking Tylenol for wrist soreness. Heade to sisters and have to sign off.

Take care,
Eileen
