Not today he said, he still has two drains in left, and the trach they capped off yesterday, he had only 3 drains, they took 1 out already from his neck one left in the neck and 1 in the thigh, last time it was 5! He is in good spirits, but wants to come home of course, maybe tomorrow, we will see, he came home on the 6th day after his first surgery and this one is like a walk in the park to him he says. He was ready to come home the day after! lol I am trying to find out if he has to have another swallow study after this one, they didn't touch the original flap, they built up under it so I don't see why he should, but I'm not a doctor. I want to ask the doc bout HPV, I don't think he has been tested. Never heard a word bout it in any conversations with the docs. Well let me get back to work here, it's been a busy weekend sorry haven't updated til now. Going to call and talk to his nurse here in a bit. He's had wonderful nurses Thank God taking care of him over the holiday weekend.

He's coming home today, I'm at work waiting for him to text me he's ready. coming home with the drain in his leg and the trach and of course feeding tube. He's happy cuz he needs to sleep! He's going to his mom's for a couple days to get some sleep before he comes back to my house, my dog will try and lick his face and won't want to stop so he has to be careful.

That's great he's doing so well especially after being so undecided about the surgery at the outset! I agree on the sleep, plus it should give you a bit of a break!, hugs and take care!

Will Ron have a visiting nurse? The trach needs to be cleaned daily. That was one part of my after-surgery that I always hated. It was very uncomfortable but it had to be done.
