Hi Steve - I'm so glad you found this site. There are lots of caring and compassionate people here who have been where you are and can offer information and support. If you click on the main page of this site: "Oral Cancer Foundation" (see top of page) you will see lots of links to things you might be interested in. For specific info on Radiation, just click on this link:
http://oralcancerfoundation.org/facts/radiation.htm
Finding out everything you can will help you to ask the right questions here or when you see your doctor. It helps, too for people to better answer any questions you have if you can add something to your signature line (like you see on mine below). Just go to the top of this page, click where it says "My Stuff" and then on Profile. Scroll all the way down to the signature box, and just put in whatever information you have about your treatment experience. There are abbreviations on the "Forums" page (see above) if you need them, and also an alphabetized list of abbreviations at:
http://web.utk.edu/~aalix/abbreviations.html
I haven't seen a spell check but after you write a message you can always hit the "Preview Reply" to fix anything you like. Don't worry about spelling - just tell us what's happening with you and ask any questions you like.

Steve, welcome to OCF. There is no spell check on the forum. Some computers like MAC's have it built right in. Or Im sure there are other programs you can install on your computer so that you have the spell check. Dont worry about this, we all make spelling errors and are used to reading around the boo-boos. smile

There are a few posts that will help you to figure out the forum. Try reading "New here, read this first"

Hi Steve welcome. D
Nt worry about spell check even with it my computer autocorrectsand I still end up with mistakes - sorry you have to be here but there are a few who've had similar surgeries an a lot of us who've had radiation. Look through the site there's lotsnof info on radiation and how people handled it.

Tell us a little more about your original surgery and treatments - that way if you do have any questions people have some back ground info. Good luck with radiation. It's not fun but doable. Take care...

There is a GREAT difference between "go live your life" and "I start 33 radiation treatments Monday". Hang in there.
