I work with the Johns Hopkins Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, and one of their surgeons, Sara Pai, M.D., Ph.D., will be hosting an online patient educational seminar about human papillomavirus ( HPV) and its connection to head and neck cancers. I thought some members of this forum may be interested in participating in this webinar. It's taking place on Wednesday, May 12, 2011 between 7 p.m. and 8 p.m. (EST). To register, visit http://www.hopkinsmedicine.org/healthseminars#online Dr. Pai will give a 20 to 30 minute presentation and then answer questions submitted by people viewing the presentation. The webinar is free and questions can be submitted in advance by emailing [email protected]. If you have any questions or have problems registering, please feel free to contact me. correction .... I wrote the above post to correct that Wed is May 11th not 12th. When I went to register, I did not see it listed as an option. I will contact them to find out what is wrong.

And the date on the registration notice states: "Thursday, May 12, 2011 7:00 PM" which I take it to mean that it is held at 6pm EDT. It also says to log onto http://bit.ly/HPVheadneck a few minutes prior to 7 pm EST and since I am in the Eastern time zone where we are in Eastern Daylight Time, I should log in a few minutes before 6pm EST (which is 7pmEDT). Right?

You might want to e-mail Morag (e-mail address is in profile) and check.

April 2006: Husband dx by dentist with leukoplakia on tongue. Oral surgeon's biopsy 4/28/06: Moderate dysplasia; pathology report warned of possible "skip effect." ENT's excisional biopsy (got it all) 5/31/06: SCC in situ/small bit superficially invasive. Early detection saves lives.

"Please log-in at 7pm your time tomorrow night." So the time stated was already in EDT.
Im in PA so Im in the same time zone as Hopkins. Also, 7PM EST would be 8PM EDT (spring forward).
