Looking to connect with anyone out there doing a clinical trial at U of MI CC named AT-101 with Docetaxel? My husb has SCC BOT met to his lungs - went thru 2nd round of chemo last winter that helped shrink 25% and stabilize. Had a 2 mo. break, then CT showed tumor growth again. Restarting chemo this week - possibly this new trial, or could go back on the Alimta/Carboplatin he had success with (although brief). We are just scared going with this new trial drug, but if it could be the ONE to do the job and halt this evil in his lungs we feel we have to try.
The prognisis stinks, he will be on chemo the rest of his life, however long that may be.

I honestly wish I could help you. There are other people here who've had the same kind of cancer as you. Perhaps they can help. I think the doctors can give you the best idea of how successful they think the trial might be. Take care, and best of luck to you and your husband. It's a difficult decision. Hopefully got will guide you.

thanks Cheryl. We are going with the trial drug, which is combo-ed with another one in the study. Glad to know they will monitor things closely and feel that the doctors have our best interest in mind, while participating in the trial. Best of luck to you as well.
Take care,
Bonnie
