Susan - I know that my son Paul, whose daughter who is 10 right now has plans for the Gardasil shots. Because my other grandchildren (boys) are 12, 11 and 9, your question prompted me to search OCF's site for information on Gardasil which yielded this:

It is noted that "Gardasil is approved in Australia for use in boys and men aged nine to 26." I hadn't realized that boys could get the Gardasil shot as soon as age 9 but will certainly bring this up again with my daughter who has the 11 and 9 year old boys and my other son who has the 12 year old. I suppose we could say "Shock and Awe" and by the time a young person reaches college age, they do need the shock and awe that will get their attention which could save their lives.

The only scandal IMO is that Gardisil is not routinely given to boys and girls. At Elizabeth's neighbor's bar-g-que after her fantastic San Antonio walk, I had the opportunity to talk with her child's third grade teacher's boyfriend who did not know guys should and could get this vaccination.
