Your post made me cry too. My daughter was 11/2 years old when got diagnosed with tongue cancer last march. I remember the fear that I had - not for me but for my precious baby. I also remember how hard it was going thru tx with a small bub and I didn't have to go through anywhere close to what you what you had to. My heart hurts thinking of what you and your family have been through. I'm glad you have found this forum, it is such a great form of support. I hope things will be better from now on for you.

Partial Glossectemy end March - margins not clear enough.
While waiting for resection - cancer returned,2 new cancerous lumps
Re-section End May & flap from cheek attatched. Margins clear.
Mid June - 4 teeth out
Mid July -32 Rads and 3 Cisplatin
6th Sept 10 Finished Treatment!!

CG to Sister (42). Smoker quit @ diagnosis Dx 4/20/10 SCC T2N0M0, Rside of tongue Hemigloss R neck dis, all nodes removed 6/2/10, Trach and NG in, home 6/8/10,8/18/2010 start erbitux x6, 30 IMRT end 10/11/10 with only 3x erbitux due to reaction and one week off of rads
1/10/2011 Clear PET!!!

So welcome. I am very new here but I have found soooo much strengh and hope here that I jones to get home and log on. Of all the terrible things I've done to my body over the years I wind up with "sexually transmitted cancer" WTF!!! An IV drug addict for two decades and because of being careful no HIV or hep C. and I wind up with this??? I just don't get it. That being said I am looking for this to make me the strongest fighter on the planet and do something positive with my life (I've wasted a lot of time over the years). You are young and strong and something great will come out of all of this for you. I promise. Will Zinn

PET pointed tonsilectomy Feb. 2011
1ml tumor left side tonsil
Rads scheduled March 14th 2011. 2X36 GY's (72)
CarboTaxol once a week X 4 or 5 starting 4/5/11
No PEG
