We do have Mri & ct sans available here. However my oncologist strongly recommended a pet/ct combined scan so I am now waiting for my result's. We are a major cancer centre in the north & are privately fundraising for the pet/ct scan. There are a very limit number available in Ontario & from reading & researching all of thses boards I can see we how badly we need them.

We do need them and they should be funded by either insurance or the government as part of treatment / dx I don't necessarily believe that they are the only option and with the potential for false readings or positives it is something that should be used in conjunction with other diagnostic tools, but regardless it should be a part of the treatment and diagnosis process.
