Well, my doctor was surprised when he saw that they had grown. They were the flat kind and are now more like a half ball and too large to remove safely. I will have to have a colon resection. He did take a couple little pieces for biopsy but he did not think they were cancer. For some reason my genes like to create tumors. I have seen genetics people and they are not able to figure out what I have. I am blessed. ;-)

I think with my daughter in law it was a while before it was diagnosed, finally at the Mayo Clinic. Since her diagnosis she was told all her children had a 50% chance and sure enough first child was tested and also had to have this surgery. My understanding it creates these polyps throughout the colon. Might be something to look into.

Sharon, I have looked at that but there is no one else in the family with an issue and I didn't fit any of the other symptoms for that. I have other health issues that fit in this equation as well. I know its genetic and just go with that. I am not sure if anyone will ever be able to figure it out which is ok. I will just continue down this road that has been given to me the best I can.

My grandfather has had issues with polyps since he was young, and none of his immediate family or grandparents had it, but his great great grandfather had it, and they say it passed through a few generations with no issues.
I am sorry you are having these issues. Hopefully the doc is right and they aren't cancer. For my grandfather, his polyps were cancerous after 30 years of getting them every 5 years or so and having them removed every time.
I will keep you in my thoughts and hope your surgery goes well and biopsys come back negative.

I know that a lot of my medical issues are genetic and there is nothing I can do about that. I just go with the flow. It gets a little frustrating but not much I can do about it. I have always just dealt with things growing up. This is no different.
I am not sure when surgery is going to be yet. I go in to see the surgeon on Feb 8th and I don't think they will waste to much time before they go in. I know they usually like to wait about 6 weeks in between colonoscopies so I am not sure what they will do with this. I don't know if this is due to the clean out process or not.
