I went today to let them check and see if my trrach tube was ready to come out. There was some swelling around my vocal chords when they did surgery a few weeks ago and thats why they left it in. The swelling has gone down and they decided to take the tube out.

Also, they had found another spot on my tongue and sent it off to be byopsied and it came back negative as did the other byosies that they sent to the lab. Doc told me as far as he was concerned I was 100% cancer free.

Praise God!!!!

Dx Mar 07 with Base Of Tongue Stage IV. IMRT 35x with 3 doses Cysplatin ran concurrent. Tx ended May 31,07. Left and right node involved. Radical neck disection 7/18/07

Hallijuah! Getting that thing out was definitely one of the best days of my life. That thing drove me bananas. Congrats Billy! So glad to hear about the clear biopsies too! K

Retired Dentist, 59 years old at diagnosis. SCC of the left lateral border of the tongue (Stage I). Partial glossectomy and 30 nodes removed, 4/6/05. Nodes all clear. No chemo no radiation 18 year survivor.

Im just planning on trying to return to as normal as its going to get. This has really been a great day for me and my family. Thank you all for the kind words. My wife said the Lord is starting to bless us all now.

Dx 5/18/07 SCC, BOT, lymph node involvement. T1N2BM0. (Stage 4a, G2/3)
Tx 6/18 - 8/3/07, IMRT x 33 Cisplatin x3 (stopped after 1st dose due to hearing issues). Weekly Erbitux started 6/27/07 completed 8/6/07.

CG to Mom, dx 4/25/07 with tongue cancer,T3N0,tx began 7/6/07, 31 tx's of IMRT, 8 cycles of Erbitux. Brachytherapy, surgery, left neck dissection and temp trach placed all on 9/17/07, trach removed 10/17/07. ORN of jaw, late effect of radiation symptoms. **lost my beautiful mother on 5/5/11.
