The rest is history - I got an initial diagnosis of jaw carcinoma, hideous surgery suggested, then CT scan showed lung was Primary--Thank Goodness for the cancellation of surgery! My diary shows I took it 'One week at a time'--pessimistically (SP??) And now, here I am, still alive and kicking, having enjoyed a whole season of weekends at my 'van'. And I may even go up there again in a couple of weeks to plant some bulbs in my tubs for Spring! Sorry, just needed to post that! Brenda

Beginning of December when I come back from the States ?--Dec 9th is Beverley's 'Festival of Christmas' with a Victorian Market and Carol Singers. Usually, father Chrismas sleigh is drawn by real reindeer, but they can't come this year because of the BlueNose outbreak, which is a shame!

The normal daytime temprature in the UK is about 10 degrees with a dip to 3 or 4 degrees at night. In yorkshire it is usually just plain freezing at this time of year lol. Gary i am so old i dont know how to convert but i think in olden days it would have been about 58 degrees.Does that help!!! Blue tongue disease is affecting our cattle and sheep who have to be slaughtered if they contract it. As its name suggests,it is charecterised by the animal developing a blue tongue. the good news is that only animals who contract it need to be slaughtered unlike foot and mouth which requires whole herds to be destroyed once one case has been confirmed. The poor UK farmers have been plagued by sporadic out breaks of both these diseases this summer and it means that movement of live stock is restricted and farmers cant take their stock to markets,or sell them for slaughter. liz
