Joined: Nov 2010 Posts: 49 | Should I be concerned about the drain holes leaking fluid 10 days post op? Had the drains removed on Wednesday. I have put some antiseptic on the site and covered with a sterile strip.

SCC right lateral tongue. Intially thought to be cell dysplasia and dx as SCC after surgical excision.
Nov 2010- partial glossectomy (1cm in width), partial neck dissection. Margins clear, nothing found in nodes- YAY! Benign tumor on saliva gland.

Joined: Sep 2006 Posts: 1,357 Likes: 5 | No, not to be concerned. They stop draining in time, but it was awhile ago and I cannot remember how long it took. I know the home nurse chained the drain site bandages regularly so it must have been 1-2 weeks?
