| Joined: Sep 2010 Posts: 4 Member | OP Member Joined: Sep 2010 Posts: 4 | im recovering from my last surgery for trismus which was oct.29 2010 the plastic surgeon cut my massister muscle to relaese my jaw now i cant eat anything only drink on one side of my mouth! the pain is very intense does this ever ease up? they give me more meds but no real info? anybody been thru this?
Stage 4 buccal mucosa with lynphnode involvement radical forearm free flap surgery 7/09.radiation 35tx and cisplatin/erbutux chemo 4 tx peg tube for 8 months peg removed revision surgery four surgeries for trismus 4 picc lines for ORN of mandilbe now in HBO Tx still fighting the good fight!!!!

When I had surgery last year to remove 1/2 of my bottom jaw, I would have spasms of severe pain. I think this is what you are talking about. The pain was like being struck by lightening, very sudden intense pain. Im more than a year post surgery and very rarely do I have those pains anymore. I would estimate that I suffered with those pains quite frequently right after surgery then they gradually tapered off. I hope yours subside quickly.
