I know this is a common side effect-does anyone have any remedies that helped? Nurses said to try Jolly Rancher candies and to "keep on rinsing" with baking soda. Thanks, Liz

Of course, I'm a dentist and you expect me to say that. However, I would stick with the baking soda.

I never had the symptoms so I still have an industrial size box of plastic forks, and paper plates Kevin 18 YEAR SURVIVOR SCC Tongue (T3N0M0) diag 06/2006. I tried a lot of bottled waters and some of these were also no good, perhaps because many have high mineral content. Eventually he found that Poland Spring and also, the bottled water from Trader Joe's was OK. But I am sure that is an individual thing.
Salt/soda and also, l-glutamine rinses may help with the after-taste. Sometimes a fruity flavor (bit of applesauce, for example) helps take the bad taste away.
And as was posted above, avoid metallic utensils and dishes.
