Woohoo!!! My sister is finally done with rads!! What a relief this is. The last 2 weeks were tough but all of us got through. Even though she is in the hospital now because of dehydration, it can only go up from here.

Actually it may down from here for the next 2 to 3 weeks as this is the time that most of us have had our worse treatment experience. After that THEN things will start to improve very slowly so please don't either of you get discouraged if what I just said comes true.

certainly I hope she proves me wrong but she would be the rare exception so hang in there a few more weeks until she finally will realize that she has walked out of that dark tunnel she's been in.

Susan, so glad your sister has finished her tx. She has had a rough road. Hope she is focusing on her nutrition so she heals quickly. Best wishes to both of you smile

That's great to be finished with tx. As David says though, it's still a rough road for a while. Still, she can relax a bit now without having to go in for those horrible treatments.

Congrats to your sis . I bet she feels better just knowing there are no more Rads awaiting her. You both have my best. Might be rough for a few but well worth it.

Since posting this. UPMC, Pittsburgh, Oct 2011 until Jan. I averaged about 2 to 3 surgeries a week there. w Can't have jaw made as bone is deteroriating steaily that is left in jaw. Mersa is to blame. Feeding tube . Had trach for 4mos. Got it out April.

Hi Susan,

everyone is right about the next 2-3weeks being the worse. Partly i think because we expect to feel so much better but we dont so we feel really let down. But keep the faith, it will start to improve soon!! Congrats on finishing!! Yay!!!

Thanks everyone. This past week has seemed to be extremely difficult. She has been in the hospital since her last day of rads. She is in a lot of pain and was dehydrated again. She is also getting severe headaches?? They did an MRI this morning. Results to come. I can't wait for the healing to begin.
