I ended up in ICU for 11 days due to the pain meds.

I named him Ray Beam. See caringbridge.org/visit/randyessex for a picture of Ray wearing the Panama hat I bought to protect me from the sun.  David, the radiation oncologist was more impressed that I'm still eating mostly solid food (eggs, bologna [which I can still taste, oddly enough], corn, and a black bean/guacamole soup my wife devised) than that I am still exercising.         
Randy, Stage 3 tonsil SCC, node involvement, HPV-positive. 7 sessions of Taxol-Carboplatin, 35 rads finished 9/8/10. Post-TX PET and CT 12/1 showed "no metabolic evidence of residual or recurrent disease." Yay!

  HPV +16 Right Tonsil SCC with  1 Right lymph node.  Tonsillectomy and neck resection. 
  Got 33 radiation doses via tomo machine (58 gry to back of throat, 65 gry to right neck, and 56 gry to left neck) with 2 cisplatin and one carboplatin due to possible hearing loss.

Still kind of tired as the radiation continues to work � and tired of my mouth feeling dirty � but otherwise doing well and feeling good.
