Well the cramps from the IMRT have set in and are getting really frequent. Started about 1 - 2 a week and now I am up to 5 - 8 a day, quite annoying. One of the Doctors has recommended Botox treatments to relieve some of the cramping.

Any of you have any experience with this?

During my nursing career have worked with use of Botox in research studies for tight vocal cords of spasmotic dysphonia and muscular contractions. In those instances it worked well but hadlimited duration, usually about 3 months or less. Have not experienced use in neck muscle contractions from radiation. With
Use of Botox is often accompanied by physical therapy for muscle treatment or speech therapy for vocal cords. Has your doctor suggested any additional physical therapy, exercises, or heat treatments?

Hi Linda

They have suggested massage and stretching exercises (which I am doing) and said if they got more frequent (which is happening) they may add Botox to the mix. I just found this to be an interesting twist.

Thanks for the info !
