Joined: Nov 2006 Posts: 2,671 | Has anyone had heard about a tooth regeneration gel developed in France recently and used in dental fillings to regenerate the teeth? I was wondering how this might relate to the radiation damage cancer causes to the teeth and whether it could help or hinder? It's supposed to be available in the US in 4 years.

Since posting this. UPMC, Pittsburgh, Oct 2011 until Jan. I averaged about 2 to 3 surgeries a week there. w Can't have jaw made as bone is deteroriating steaily that is left in jaw. Mersa is to blame. Feeding tube . Had trach for 4mos. Got it out April.

Joined: Nov 2006 Posts: 2,671 | I googled the tooth regenertion gel and found that a doctor at Columbia University is also working on this. I also read about research into regeneration for knee and hip bone so maybe other types of bone regeneration are coming, too. I have a dentist appointment tomorrow and going to ask my dentist about this. I'm having to pay $2000+ for three re-capped teeth (that's with insurance!) so I'm going to make sure I ask all the questions I need to. I already dropped off lots of info from OCF re proper oral cancer exam. His office told me they had just gotten a Velscope and I will get the benefits of a Velscope exam so I hope he's done his "homework" and read the OCF material!
