I can't believe the roller coaster I am riding. I am three weeks from diagnosis and one week before my radiation begins. I had my PET scan yesterday and am so afraid they will discover it is in my lymph nodes. I am afraid of a stage iv diagnosis.

Thankfully, I can read the posts of many stage iv survivors. I also can think of my husband, an 18 yr survivor of tongue cancer, and a 12 yr survivor of neck cancer.

I guess none of us know how much time we have, but damn, it is hard to let go of wanting to be in control.

Susan/59/nonsmoker /tonsil cancer spread to tongue,stage III diagnosed 6/10, HPV+ T3,N1 Finished 35 radiation and 7 cisplatin 9/7/10.

Susan - That rollercoaster is the pits! The few days until you find out what's happening can seem like an eternity. Try to grab hold and hang on to the good stuff that has happened - like your husband's positive survival experience and so many others here who have been on that same rollercoaster and came out ok. Sending positive vibes your way. Let us know what happens.
