Slippery Elm Bark lozenges. Was aware of it since I used it myself for sore throats. When Teresa began experiencing the post radiation burning, we gave it a try and it immediately relieved the burning for her. Teresa is now on her second box and says it has helped her more than anything else with the burning and the sore areas.
It is about the size of a sweet tart and it will slowly dissove in the mouth. Directions call for one ever 4 hours.
Can be found at any health food store. Hope it will be as beneficial for some of you!

Not wanting to change the subject but....with the use of Manuka Honey I have not had a sinlge mouth sore after 5 weeks of rads (knock on wood). Granted, most of my rads are aimed towards the back of my throat where my tonsils used to be but there is still some scatter and (although I can't be sure) I do think it has helped me a lot.

Picked up some honey... Used it for two days... It did burn a bit where the sores were, but after 3 days I'm clear - no sores a and still eating by mouth.. Week 5 has begun.
