I was thinking about this last night, wonder if any of you have had a similiar experience.
I was dx'ed about one year ago, treatment in Aug/Sept and recovering since then. I am doing well, back to riding, swiming and running. Eating well thoughmy taste buds are wacky and still have some saliva problems. But for you newer folks, recovery takes time but it is steady and you will get better! I am even gaing some weight, just a few pounds. So here is the weird stuff
Before cancer I had colitus, an auto imune problem. I would get 3 flares a year. I also had exercise induced asthma, another immune problem. Both were inflaminatory problems. I would take prednizone like candy at times!
Well now, I do not have the asthma problem and have not had a colitis flare in a year. I wonder if the chemo and the radiation slapped the @#$% out of my immune system and got it back on track? weird ???
Hope you are all doing well today!
Steve

That is weird but maybe all the treatment you received did have an effect. Like pressing the reset button. Good for you! I am happy for you that you don't have to deal with colitis and asthma anymore. Let's keep our fingers crossed that it stays that way.

Not sure why but I've heard this before. With all the wacky side effects you do get from treatment,I think it's great to get a bonus clean-up!!!

Weight loss..love it! Every year (like clock-work) I would get the flu. I don't get any flu shots, but for 2 years so far...no flu! No headaches either. I'm so glad for all this, because I am still so scared to swallow any pills! Rejoice in feeling better & not having to deal with former issues!

But it is back with a vengance...before C I was on injectables..but now the Dr's don't want to use them...they are all T-Cell inhibitors, which makes the cancer cells happy. So I'm just flaky and use lots of topical stuff and thank the lord I'm still cancer free.
