Last time I was on OCF's website was in 2007. I hope my history shows. I really watch OCF on Facebook and tried to do a walk in the South bay area of California but became ill and needed to slow down. I had stage 2 muco epidermoid carcinoma in 2007 of the upper palate. All margins were clear. Was not a candidate for chemo or radiation & have kept up with my appts. Recently, I was diagnosed with monoclonal gammopathy an immune disorder. I've been told that possibly bone marrow is in the future. I was wondering are my risks greater of getting another type of cancer since I already had one form? my protein levels will be monitored annually for cancer.
Donna; Age 50, dx w/ Stage 2, muco epidermoid carcinoma 4/07, maxiolectomy of the upper right palate 6/07, clear margins, no radiation or chemotherapy, close follow-ups.

The question you ask should be posed to a cancer researcher but we suspect immune system irregularities with the on set of HPV in the oral environment and perhaps it plays a role in other cancers as well.
