| Joined: Jan 2010 Posts: 20 Member | OP Member Joined: Jan 2010 Posts: 20 | Hi everyone, My husband had his second visit with his MO today, and the Dr. said that he changed his mind on the treatment plan. Instead of the Cisplatin and the 5FU, he wants to go with Erbitux. His reasoning was that "it is lower in toxicity" than the Cisplatin. Can anyone help me understand the difference between Erbitux and Cisplatin, and why Erbitux might be a better choice for some people? Thanks!

Since posting this. UPMC, Pittsburgh, Oct 2011 until Jan. I averaged about 2 to 3 surgeries a week there. w Can't have jaw made as bone is deteroriating steaily that is left in jaw. Mersa is to blame. Feeding tube . Had trach for 4mos. Got it out April. --- Passed away 5/14/14, will be greatly missed by everyone here
