Of course everyone is different, so dont worry about being too much like me. For me it was a rough road in alot of ways. Some other ways it wasnt too bad cuz they kept me asleep for about 3 weeks. Here are a couple links to read which will answer alot of your questions. My son, TravisB reported my progress and the other one is a blog about my experience. http://oralcancersupport.org/forums/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=102247#Post102247http://oralcancersupport.org/forums/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=102049#Post102049Hope this helps. Let them do it and tell me what they did after I regain conciousness. I tell my Drs to just do what they have to and it seems they like that attitude. Then I want up and to be walking the halls. It hurts some but it works for me.
Since posting this. UPMC, Pittsburgh, Oct 2011 until Jan. I averaged about 2 to 3 surgeries a week there. w Can't have jaw made as bone is deteroriating steaily that is left in jaw. Mersa is to blame. Feeding tube . Had trach for 4mos. Got it out April. --- Passed away 5/14/14, will be greatly missed by everyone here
