What is the latest that works for OSSC tongue and floor of mouth and its side effects as I can't have more radiation
and have had PDT as an option mentioned but have minimal imformation on how it affects oral cancer patients.


2006 T2NOMO left glossectomy neck dissection radiation
2008 T1NOMO right tongue resection neck dissection
2008 flap reconstruction
2009 laser excision OSSC's floor of mouth
2010 excision floor of mouth recontruction
2010 total glossectomy resection floor of mouth rectus abdominus free flap

I wish I could give you an answer, My 2nd OC was only 2 months and I hadn't received Rads or Chermo yet. Rgere are members here that can answer your questions and when the day gets a little longer, I bet you get some answers, Good luck and best of everything to you.


Since posting this. UPMC, Pittsburgh, Oct 2011 until Jan. I averaged about 2 to 3 surgeries a week there. w Can't have jaw made as bone is deteroriating steaily that is left in jaw. Mersa is to blame. Feeding tube . Had trach for 4mos. Got it out April.

Im sorry but Im not familiar with PDT. I have had oral cancer 3 times in 3 years. I see your signature shows several recurrances. Are you being treated at a cancer center? Recently I have seen a few patients get radiation again. For my recurrances, I have had surgery. As far as I am aware, that is all that can be done. Oral cancer doesnt respond to chemo by itself.
