Now, I come home and find on my answering machine that my universal life is set to expire the end of this month because the interest rate has gone so low and eaten up the premiums. I was paying around 26 a month in premiums for a 50,000 policy I got when I was 35. Now, to keep it, it will cost me 231.00 a month. Just for me.
I want to cry!! It seems illegal, but if you get on the internet, this universal life is doing this to everyone!!
Any suggestions from anybody??? I am going to pay for one more month so I will have some time to figure out what to do!!!!!!
Thanks, Debbie

I had also called the state insurance commissioner to make sure I wasn't being hoo-dooed!!!
As it turns out, the economy just ate up my premiums and I had to increase my premiums and and change from exclusion to inclusion(still not clear on that one). But the insurance commissioner told me not to dare let it lapse, so I didn't. Not a real pleasant experience. Boy, that made me bitter! Hit me while I'm down, I thought!!
Not too important in the real world here, I know, but just thought someone out there might get into a similar situation!! I am sure there are agents on here who know exactly what I speak of.
Also, my agent did tell me that he had seen his company insure a cancer survivor after so many years as just a "normal" person. I am 3 years and may try later on.
Just got blindsided my this whole thing and wanted to give all heads up!
Take care Debbie
