I still have tenderness when eating crispies (pretzels, chips, etc) but no big thing. I am down to about 48-72 oz of water per day, starting to develop a little saliva, eat everything but still sweat with spicey foods. When I am skiig must use a camelback. Strength has increased and so has stamina. Weight gain of about 15lbs from my low. There is light at the end of the tunnel.
Age 63, occasional drinker, smoked for 40 years Base of tongue, stage 4,T-2,N2B Cisplatin 1xweek 30 RT ended 6/25 PEG removed 8/23 PET Scan shows scaring but believed no tumors 9/25

I have had radiation and one tonsil and 2 tongue cancers. So, you are lucky to be able to eat so well. Be thankful!!
I started in 1997 with a swollen glad in my neck. It was stage 2 tonsil cancer. Had radiation and a week hosp. stay. 2 mo. tube in throat. Lost 40 lbs. c. free until 2005. Tongue had surgery. Did good. 2007, another tongue, surgery. Am cancer free now. Went to OHSU. they are wonderful.
