New Orleans is fun and could use the business...might be some great deals. Can't beat the food...easy to get around on foot...river, zoo, aquarium, restaurants, street entertainment, antiques, museums, WWII Museum, Katrina took the famous Saenger Theater, but the restaurants are back in full force....and the streetcars...and the Quarter....and beignets at the French Market are back....and Aunt Sally's praline shop.....

Husband: 3 SCC gum and cheek cancers 2002, 2005, 2006: surgery only. Scans clear after removal of small, well differentiated, non-invasive cancers. No radiation. 4th SCC lip diagnosed 4/13/07 - in situ, removed in biopsy. More lip removed 2/8/08 - dysplasia. 2 Biopsies 3/17/09 no cancer (lichenoids)

AND of COURSE I will HAVe to STICK AROUND !! if I plan this thing .Hehehe Gives me somthing positive outta of the Negative , Because the thought of being able to meet everyone or alot of people is so Great to me !

One thiing I am def going to need help with , if any one would like to volunteer is the Menu .. I will get the info from the location , but the place I am looking at now has like a MILLION selections ..I have no idea .. I myself am a picky eater ..so that I will need some input on !!

My mother lived in New Orleans for 8 years, I went one year for Mardi Gras, it's a beautiful place. My brother and his wife still live there, although they lost everything during Katrina and have moved further from downtown then they were before.
Count me, my husband and at least five of our children in. I'm with Eileen, I think this would do WONDERS for my husband.
Any dates in mind?
SCC Left Mandible. Jaw replaced with bone from leg. Neck disection, 37 radiation treatments. Recurrence 8-28-07, stage 2, tongue. One third of tongue removed 10-4-07. 5-23-08 chemo started for tumor behind swallowing passage, Our good friend and much loved OCF member Minnie has been lost to the disease (RIP 10-29-08). We will all miss her greatly.

All members who say they are 90% sure (stuff happens) should write in and state they are interested and the number of quests they would bring.
This would help answer 2 pertinent questions. How many to inquire about reservations for and also give you a better generalization of a suitable, centralized location for all.
Then pick three "fun" places or resorts from the centralized geographical area that was ascertained and then come to a consensus of where to meet, after investigating all the relative amenities.

The FOOD !! the one place I am looking at has a HUGE selection and I have NO idea on what to chose...I am so picky as it is. SO if I get menus after locastion is selected does anyone wanna help with that part
