I had my first radiation today and tomorrow I have my first chemo-radiation day. I had an appt. with the chemo nurse to explain all the side effects before I go tomorrow and some rules to follow. I am certain I can make it through one time, but oh I would just be a mental case if it recurred after all this. I was already told once when they removed the thing under my tongue that I was "cured". Next thing you know it's in my lymph nodes. I know they are radiating both sides of my neck and under my chin, so I hope it doesn't go anywhere else but when I read about cancer that has spread to the lymph nodes I don't see much good news. I had a neck dissection but the lymph nodes that were cancerous were poorly differentiated so I guess anything can happen if they don't get it all killed.

My husband had some that were deemed "not" effects of the chemo but when I checked it out they were listed on the website. It's important to be well informed so you don't panic if you have unexpected issues. Best of luck to you!
