I have been reading and i hope one of you educated posters contact me. I have soo many things to ask just don't know where to start. This is all too scary.
age 29,salivary gland cancer, smoker, non drinker, weekly cisplatin and IMRT daily X 34. Just started treatments.
3/2010 all done with treatments and 3 great scans. life is back to normal pretty much.

Welcome to the OCF website. Sorry to hear about your Dx of cancer but this is the site to spend your time on. As far as your questions, the best way is to just start asking.
You also need to give us as much info about your Dx, where you will be treated and what treatment (Tx) they have mentioned. Most of us edit our Signature Line in our Profile so that it posts everytime we ask or answer a post. See mine as an example.

Age 58 at Dx, HPV16+ SCC, Stage IV BOT+2 nodes, non smoker, casual drinker, exercise nut, Cisplatin x 3 & concurrent IMRT x 35,(70 Gy), no surgery, no Peg, Tx at Moffitt over Aug 06. Jun 07, back to riding my bike 100 miles a wk. Now doing 12 Spin classes and 60 outdoor miles per wk. Nov 13 completed Hilly Century ride for Cancer, 104 miles, 1st Place in my age group. Apr 2014 & 15, Spun for 9 straight hrs to raise $$ for YMCA's Livestrong Program. Certified Spin Instructor Jun 2014.

I am sorry you have to join us. I do not know anything about salivary glad cancer, but I am getting ready to radiation and chemo on Monday. I will be thinking about you. I too have young children.
