Thank you all so much for the kind words. You can't imagine what being a part of this group has meant to me during the years that my Aunt was ill. You've all been so kind and supportive.

Yesterday my husband and I chose to spend our anniversary with our Uncle Bob. Although at times it was hard, it was very nice looking at old pictures and telling old stories, kind of wandering down memory lane. After crying for three days straight, I finally "felt" her with me for the first time today and that was a very good feeling.

The things you have all said are very true. Amy, I AM a stronger person for having known her.
Nelie, she was a remarkable woman and as Uncle Bob said, she wormed her way into your heart and just didn't let go. He said that's how he got "hooked" for 44 yrs. We had to smile at that. Eileen, it's interesting that you called her Rosie because to me she's always been Aunt Ro. Uncle Bobby had "Rosie" emblazened on a LOT of things that he loved. He's a older gentleman of 61 now, but if you had lifted the hood of his impeccably kept race car 35/40 years ago, you would have seen "Rosie" with a rose painted perfectly under the hood.

Please pray for our dear Uncle. He is such a good man and he is hurting so badly. He absolutely adored his wife and can't imagine being without her. We're a little bit worried about him.

Love to all.

Dear Lisa, when you are a little more over the shock of losing Aunt Ro, we are going to need to have a talk about "Uncle Bobby being an OLDER gentleman of 61". It probably will take him a long time to heal form this loss and whatever time you can spend with him will be good. Amy, the older lady in the Ozarks. smile

wink I'm no spring chicken myself anymore, but no, I don't think 61 is old- although my Uncle is a true gentleman. They just don't make them like him anymore. (I'm trying hard to be funny but it's not working out too well). I think he's just exhausted right now. He just feels old. Aunt Ro was sick with something or other her whole life. She had 19 major surgeries for different types of illnesses and he survived a heart attack and had a couple of stents put into his heart when stents were a pretty new invention. They've been through alot and he's just tired.

We talk to him for an hour or two every night and we're encouraging him not to make any major decisions for a while. He was talking about selling their beautiful home but we don't want him to move away or have any regrets. We'll help him take one thing at a time.

Love,
Lisa
